Importing a .docx document
Follow these steps to
Create a document by importing a RTF document
To create a document or content item by importing a RTF document follow these steps:.docx document:
- Open a repository and branch in Blueriq Encore.
- Select the branch fron the navigation menu and choose: 'Import document'
- In the selection step:
- Use the 'Upload docx file'-button to select the source document from your file system.
- If Blueriq detects styles in the docx-file that are not supported, e.g. mathematical formulas, it will show this after selecting the file in a blue info box. You will be able to proceed, but the unsupported styles will be ignored.
- Choose whether you want to convert the source document to a document or content item.
- Provide a sensible name for the target document or content item.
- Choose a project, module, and language in which you want the target element to be created.
- Use the 'Upload docx file'-button to select the source document from your file system.
- In the preview step:
- Match content styles and presentation styles from the docx
- Choose File - import;
- Choose Import Document and select a RTF document;
- Choose Next;
- Match contentstyles and optionally presentation styles from the RTF
- document to styles in the Blueriq document
- .
Tip When you select a style it will be highlighted in the document preview
and vice versa. You may want to switch Encore to light mode for increasedreadability.
- Check the styles that act as parent node; this will create a hierarchy in your document which will make it easier to maintain
- Choose Next;
- Optional but recommended: check the option to add a root node this will make it easier to move the imported document as a whole;
- Choose Next;
- Provide a name for this document and either save it as content item or as a new document; Choose Finish.
