Importing a .docx document
Follow these steps to create a document or content item by importing a .docx document:
- Open a repository and branch in Blueriq Encore.
- Select the branch fron the navigation menu and choose: 'Import document'
- In the selection step:
- Use the 'Upload docx file'-button to select the source document from your file system.
- If Blueriq detects styles in the docx-file that are not supported, e.g. mathematical formulas, it will show this after selecting the file in a blue info box. You will be able to proceed, but the unsupported styles will be ignored.
- Choose whether you want to convert the source document to a document or content item.
- Provide a sensible name for the target document or content item.
- Choose a project, module, and language in which you want the target element to be created.
- Use the 'Upload docx file'-button to select the source document from your file system.
- In the preview step:
- Match content styles and presentation styles from the docx document to styles in the Blueriq document.
When you select a style it will be highlighted in the document preview and vice versa. You may want to switch Encore to light mode for increasedreadability.
- Check the styles that act as parent node; this will create a hierarchy in your document which will make it easier to maintain.
- Match content styles and presentation styles from the docx document to styles in the Blueriq document.
- Now select 'Import' and the created document or content item will open in the background.
