The Publisher Inbox is used to communicate between different Publisher users. If the two man rule applies, a publish action needs to be approved before it is actually published. When the approver logs in, all outstanding approval requests are shown in the inbox. Likewise, when the approver approves (or rejects) the publish action, the publisher receives a notification in the inbox.

So based on the role a user has, the following tabs are shown in the inbox:

  • Approvals
  • Messages
Note

Since the PublisherAdministrator role has both the Publisher as well as the Approver role, both tabs are shown for this role.

Approvals

This list contains all publication or unpublication requests that need an assessment, which is part of the two man rule.

Requests can be either approved or rejected. When a request is approved, it is processed directly and removed from the list. When the request is rejected, the user has to enter a reject message which will be shown to the publisher. After that is entered the request is rejected and removed from the list. It is also possible to approve or reject multiple requests at once. You can only supply one reject message if you reject multiple requests at once.

Note that although the requests are removed from the list, the publication details (and their approval/rejection) will still be available in the Publication History.

Messages

In the messages list all recent publications and unpublications are logged.

New messages are shown with a bold font type. The details of a message can be viewed by opening the message and it can be deleted. Note that even after a message is deleted, the publication details will still be available in the Publication History.
